Want to help others?

Sometimes, having someone who simply listens can make all the difference. Our Companions volunteer their time to offer connection, understanding and a listening ear to those who need it.

If you’re compassionate, empathetic and want to make a positive difference, we’d love to have you join us.

What Our Companions Have To Say...

“I'm really enjoying being part of the ImNotOK community. It's a very positive experience, and continues to be so.  I've learnt an awful lot from the training and talking to people in the community. This has helped not only with the guest/and outside of ImNotOK, but also in my own 'self-regulation'. The companion circles are helpful and welcome, and I look forward to learning new techniques and strategies when they come up."

"Outside of INO, the listening/signposting and other techniques I've learnt have been very valuable as I've found myself leaning-in more with people having difficulties; in the past I may have looked away and hoped they'd be alright, but now I'm offering a listening ear and feel happy to engage and hopefully help a little. In fact I have a regular 'life' chat with a client of mine at work who is going through some exceptionally rough times.

I am really inspired by my experience thus far - to the point of thinking about how I could do this more, what could I train as, could there be some sort of MH avenue in my future working years, even...we'll see.”

“I think we've both enjoyed and value the sessions and we will continue for a few more weeks. An excellent rapport has developed and the conversation flows well.

The feedback to me from the guest was positive and he said that without the sessions, he would not have gone to the doc to seek support for anxiety - rather he'd most likely have bottled it up and 'carried on'. This is, I think, validating the value of the whole ImNotOK purpose.”
